Institute of Biomedical Problems

The educational-scientific Institute of Biomedical Problems was organized on the 15th of July at the Ternopil State Medical University. The Institute includes:
- Department of Normal Physiology;
- Department of Pharmacognosy with Medical Botany;
- Department of Medical Biology, Microbiology, Virology, Immunology;
- Department of Social Medicine, and Economics and Public Health Care Organization with Medical Statistics and History of Medicine.

Since June 2006 the Department of Pharmacognosy with Medical Botany has been excluded from the Institute.

At the Institute there is an Academic Council. The instructors with the scientific degrees are its members. The Academic Council is headed by the Director of the Institute. The Academic Council of the Institute is its governing body.
