The Central Scientific Research Laboratory was organized according to the order of Ministry of Health of Ukraine and the rector’s order in October 1989. The laboratory was headed by M.S. Hnatyuk from 1989 to 2001. In 2001 Candidate of Biological Sc., scientific worker N.Y. Lisnychuk headed the laboratory.
Scientific interests of the laboratory staff
The scientific work of the CSRL of Ternopil State Medical University is carried out according to the GLP requirements of experimental scientific – research laboratories, with the following a all standard operative procedures.
In 2003 the CSRL was accredited and received the Act for the right to conduct measure methodics, which are in the field of spreading state metrologic investigations.
The state accreditation commission admitted the high professional and qualification level of the laboratory staff. In order to improve the level of scientific investigations the CSRL was provided with new building in March, 2005.

- new building of the CSRL is specially equipped for performing the investigations declared by the accreditation Act;
- new laboratory planning has been done with the following all requirements according to GLP principles concerning scientific – research laboratories.
- new laboratory has appropriate size, structure and location, which are important for experimentation work and facilitate to minimize errors that can influence authenticity of the results.
During performing scientific investigations.
- the construction of the new experimental laboratory provides an appropriate degree of activity distribution to guarantee proper investigation performing.
- separate premises are available for keeping test-systems (laboratory animals) with the aim of their adaptation and rejection as defective ones;
- the isolated premises are expected to be there for keeping waste materials (chemical reactive) classified as dangerous.
Today the laboratory staff consists of 7 persons: 2 senior scientific workers Candidates of Sc., 2 scientific workers, 1 junior scientific worker, 2 laboratory technicians.

The department of experimental modeling functions at the CSRL. The laboratory staff has worked out and introduced into practice of experimental investigations model of experimental colitis in different animals, acute and chronic pancreatitis model, chronic cholecystitis model, acute purulent staphylococcic endometritis model in guinea pigs, model of liver insufficiency. New ways of modeling are protected by the safe documents of Ukraine.
The algorithm of surgical interventions’ term and volume in patients with duodenal ulcer bleeding on the basis of immunomorphologic evaluation of the factors of periulcerous area protection, ulcerous destruction, risk of bleding relapse and scale of operation –anesthesiology risk in different age groups in accompanying pathology conditions has been worked out and introduced into practice of surgical departments.
The endoscopic-immunomorphologic monitor of activity, dynamics and prognosis of the duodenal ulcer with bleeding course was proposed and now it is being widely used at the clinical surgical departments.
New method of computer morphometric analysis of histologic preparations with the use of visual analysis system of micro-preparation representing and the use of the video camera Vision Color CCD and Inter Video Win DVR UTHSCSA Image Tool program is introduced into practice of CSRL.
The workers of the CSRL usually provide practical and methodical help to the scientists of the TSMU while they are carrying out their doctoral or candidate’s theses. At present 21 candidates’ and 6 doctoral theses are being carried out on the basis of the laboratory.
Since January 2007 on the basis of the CSRL the performing of 3 scientific –research works has started to order of MOH of Ukraine and financed by the Ministry. The total amount of the financing of the first year of investigations is 160 000 UAH.
